One national record for international education in Tanzania.

PRIME-IS Tanzania registers international schools, keeps student and teacher records, verifies transfers, and compares foreign qualifications against national standards — so a child's education history holds up wherever they continue it.

Education records only have value if they travel

A student may start in an international curriculum, move regions, then sit national examinations. A teacher may be recruited from abroad on a permit that must be checked against a registration record. A school may be inspected against documents held in three different offices.

When each of those records lives in its own file, the cost is paid by families — repeated paperwork, delayed placements, qualifications that cannot be recognised in time. PRIME-IS exists to remove that cost by holding the record once and making it readable by the institutions entitled to see it.

Integrating International Education with National Standards.

For schools

Less duplicated paperwork, a clear compliance position, and admissions and transfer records that stand up to review.

For regulators

A current national picture of schools, enrolment and staffing, with the evidence attached to each record rather than requested afterwards.

Built around the people who use the record

International schools

Register once, then keep student, staff and document records current without repeating submissions to different offices.

Ministry of Education and NECTA

See the international education sector as it actually is schools, enrolment, staffing and compliance status, updated at source.

NECTA and regulators

Run verification, transfer approval and equivalence review on records that carry their own history and audit trail.

Parents and students

Move between schools, or into the national system, without losing academic history or waiting on paper confirmations.

A national authority and the schools it regulates, working on the same record

PRIME-IS is not run at arm's length from the sector. The examinations authority holds the record; the association representing international schools shapes how it is adopted.

Membership body for international schools

TISA

Tanzania International Schools Association

TISA represents international schools operating in Tanzania. It is the schools' collective voice in how PRIME-IS is adopted — coordinating onboarding, gathering practical feedback from member schools, and keeping requirements workable in daily school administration.

  • Representing member schools in platform decisions
  • Coordinating onboarding across member schools
  • Channelling school feedback on requirements
  • Sharing administrative practice between schools

Which one do I contact?

Registration, approval, account and equivalence matters go to the NECTA secretariat. Questions about membership, sector representation or shared practice between international schools go to TISA. Contact details are here.

Register your school on the national platform

Registration opens access to enrolment, records, transfers and equivalence workflows. Review the requirements first — most delays come from incomplete documents.
